Electrical Lead Engineer Data Centres
At R-inhouse, we specialize in the recruitment of top-tier professionals for the data centre sector. On behalf of one of our international clients an industry-leading design and engineering consultancy. We are currently looking for an Electrical Lead Engineer to strengthen their global team.
About the Role
As an Electrical Lead Engineer, you will be involved in designing and delivering highly complex and mission-critical Data Centre infrastructure for global clients. These are some of the most demanding and technically advanced environments in the world, requiring precision, expertise, and innovation.
You will work across international, multidisciplinary teams and be responsible for the design and delivery of electrical systems ranging from low voltage (5V DC) up to 150kV substations. You’ll also work on key components such as distribution, UPS systems, redundancy, fire protection, access control, and intrusion prevention. In Brownfield environments, you’ll carry out assessments, risk analysis, and oversee testing and commissioning, all while maintaining operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the electrical workstream across multiple high-tech projects
- Define scope, design intent, and manage project documentation for contractors, vendors, and authorities
- Draft technical reports and specifications for electrical systems
- Support the project manager with cost estimations, risk evaluations, and technical reviews
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and external partners
- Conduct technical assessments and tender evaluations for contractor and supplier selection
- Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT) and on-site commissioning
- Communicate project updates clearly to internal stakeholders and external clients
- Continuously contribute to process improvement and knowledge sharing within the team

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in electrical design or installation
- Solid understanding of design and construction standards in a technical environment
- Experience working in multidisciplinary, international teams
- Strong communication skills—internally and externally
- A proactive, flexible, and problem-solving attitude
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); German or Dutch is a plus
