Senior Fire Engineer Data Centres

At R-inhouse, we specialize in the recruitment of high-level professionals for the data centre industry. On behalf of our client an internationally renowned design and engineering consultancy we are leading the first stage of selection for a Senior Fire Engineer to join their expanding team.

About the Role

As a Senior Fire Engineer, you’ll work on cutting-edge Data Centre projects with some of the most demanding clients globally. This role goes beyond conventional engineering—client’s projects require technical depth, innovation, and cross-border collaboration. You will be part of a multidisciplinary international team contributing to the development of reliable and sustainable digital infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and engineer fire protection systems: sprinklers, fire alarms, smoke and heat extraction systems (SHE), gas extinguishing systems, etc.
• Create and coordinate design diagrams with other engineering disciplines.
• Supervise the 3D modelling of fire protection systems in Revit/BIM based on coordinated layouts.
• Integrate functional, accessible, and maintainable design principles to ensure construction aligns with the model—without the need for redesign.
• Collaborate in a global, cross-functional team and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and knowledge sharing.

What We’re Looking For

You are a proactive, technically skilled professional with a passion for high-performance environments and international teamwork.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in fire safety engineering, preferably within the data centre sector.
• Proficiency in Revit and integrated design environments.
• Strong communication skills, both internally and client-facing.
• Knowledge of client operational needs in the data centre or mission critical industry.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in German and/or Dutch is a plus.
• Open to international collaboration and occasional travel.
